We visited the restaurant during a busy time right before a ferry departure. It took us about 20 minutes to place our order, as there were 4 people in front of us. We waited for 45 minutes before checking on our food, only to find out that our order had been lost. Despite requesting a refund, the restaurant insisted on making our order even though the ferry had already arrived. We did receive our food before boarding the ferry, but it would have been preferable to eat at the restaurant rather than in the car. The only positive aspect was that the sliders were really good. It is advisable to bring your own food and drinks when dining at this restaurant.
We had two of the most bitter cappuccinos of all time! this drink should be 1/3 espresso, hot milk and foam. too strong! that was good.
In this summer, while on the way up the sun coast and over to vancouver island, I decided to miss the next sail for saltery bay. it was a wonderful sunny and warm juli morning and without time restrictions and more of my...trip before, I decided to doddle only. I knew about the cove from a small research before I left Europe in the week before. I was often on the sunshine coast when I lived in vancouver, but never stopped in earl’s cove except for the ferry. this time I just wanted to hang so that I missed the next sail, was parked and drove to the bay. very happy. had beautiful people running it. I had a bowl of homemade Manhattan style chowder and burger that were fantastic and accompanied by two or maybe 3 ice-cold island camps. there I met lola the miraculous dog and two beautiful people called jill and robyn (sp. we have hooked together on the ferry and then hanged on the ferry to saltery. a connection that goes on and for which I am very grateful. I love this place and I'm sure I'm here next time, or I'm sure.
Many times we travel to powell river, and most times/days are closed. their hours say open, but they are not. not trustworthy. they are not limited to being open.
