Absolutely fantastic! We live in Surgeres and this is our first visit and certainly not our last! The food was excellent añd the staff first class. We were made to feel special in totally elegant surrouñdings no paper napkins añd napkins and made to feel...welcome

Dropped in for lunch on the spur of the moment and was not disappointed. We had the plat du jour kidneys in white wine sauce very tasty and served in traditional French surroundings. Good service and we were well looked after.

We first started visiting this restaurant over years ago when we had a house a few miles away. We have visited many times with family and friends, and both singly and as couple. Since then we have moved to the coast but still visit...the area. I was really surprised to see such negative comments. I accept this restaurant will never win a Michelin star however it is always busy at lunchtimes offering set menus plus a plat du jour. The cheapest set course menu is which is good value. Various salads are available from the a la carte menu. Service is always brisk and reasonably efficient. If you're looking for fine dining' this is not the place, it's basic (but with cotton napkins), it's not glamorous (in the summer tables are outside in the town car park facing the castle) but it's reasonably priced and reasonably good. To say it's average is a little unfair, for the price you pay it's better than average.

Le service était déplorable ! Nous avions clairement le sentiment de déranger ce qui semblait être la "chef de salle" lorsque nous posions des questions sur les plats avant de faire notre choix. La qualité des plats était médiocre, la salade ne semblait pas fraîche, le plat du jour en sauce était un amas de bouts de gras. Nous avons été servis à la va- vite, sans sourire et pour de la nourriture qui mérite à peine le niveau d'une cantine.Et par pitié, enlevez cette lumière basse consommation dans les toilettes !! On urine dans la pénombre!!

Aucun accueil , salade en sachet et frites surgelées ... quelle arnaque ! evitez absolument cet endroit ! heureusement pour eux qu ils sont placé en face du château car sinon ils auraient fermé depuis longtemps ... quel gâchis . Le personnel s en fou complètement . La femme ( d une cinquantaine d années ) qui a l air d etre la " responsable" est mal aimable et pas souriante . A FUIR !!!
