So, I ended up ordering the deep fried wontons for $9.50. Unfortunately, they were very greasy and lacked any meat fillings. I was extremely disappointed with the food and service, and we will not be returning.
My family and friends recently visited Dimm-Summe-Lunch together. A friend informed us that the chef from Lee Yuen Seafood Restaurant had recently moved to this establishment, so we had high expectations for our meal. Unfortunately, although the food was decent, our overall experience was far from pleasant. Most of the servers spoke and understood Mandarin with limited English, making communication difficult. It was challenging to get their attention, as they seemed to focus primarily on tables near the kitchen area. We had to wait at least 20 minutes for our bill, which left us feeling ignored. The ordering system involved using a pen to mark selections on a laminated Dim Sum menu, which was a good concept but flawed if the pen didn't write properly and our choices were missed. The biggest issue we encountered was with the deep-fried pork dumplings (ham sui gok) we ordered. When they arrived, we asked for them to be cut and noticed that the dough was still white and undercooked. When we mentioned this to the server, she insisted they were cooked, but another server confirmed they were not. However, when the replacement dish arrived, it appeared to be the same dumplings cut up, suggesting they were either reheated or fried again. Additionally, we overheard another table complaining about finding a hair in one of their dishes, indicating poor food quality control. Overall, we were highly disappointed with our experience and do not plan to return.
Vancouver is known for its abundance of wild salmon and game meat, making it a great place for food lovers. King Do is a popular restaurant among locals, known for its Cantonese cuisine and friendly service. The food is on the sweeter side, but the family-owned business is welcoming and accommodating. The prices are reasonable and they do not expect tips, unlike many other restaurants in Vancouver. It's easy to make a reservation and a good spot for parties or celebrations. Overall, a great dining experience worth checking out.
Like My family and I joined in this waiter's restaurant gave us the menu book when we opened OMG, there was a mistake in it. Not only that, but I ordered a fried rice it was good, but the second looked like... the rice wasn't and it was raw DONT GO THERE!!!
Not the fanciest or most expensive but a family owned restaurant with slightly greasy but quality bang for buck meal. It has the full menu including my favorite crab with cream sauce and Peking duck. Although these two dishes are my favorite Chinese items, I...mainly have come here for dim sum which also adheres to what I say about the restaurant, good Chinese food at a good price. Not necessarily easy to find when you live on this side of bridge.
