Grief The welcome we received was not inviting at all. We got a table that was sticky, we were said that it was new, and do not worry. The girl who took our order was nice, we ordered curry puffs, dicks salad, chicken curry, crispy fish with mango and sago pudding, all were fine, but not great. There were 3 of us, we paid $ 130. What 3 drinks included. Only OK value. Good food guide rated it 14/20, my review would be 12/20
Having heard good things about the 'Spice I Am' chain of restaurants, decided to try Surry Hills Eating House on a Friday night after work. The restaurant has a nice quiet ambiance, very different from the busy vibe of Surry Hills. The food had nice flavours and was well balanced. Unfortunately the pricing was a bit dear. Drinks were $6each and you were only given a small glass. We ordered 'Pad Prik King Moo Grob' - crispy pork belly with red curry paste, green beans, chilli and maggot lime leaves. The cost was $29.50 so we expected a decently sized plate, but we were disappointed. Better options elsewhere, go to Home Thai or Satang Thai for cheaper food, or Chat Thai for better food at similar prices. twohappybellies.com
Unfortunately it has a nice atmosphere, which is unfortunately the only positive at this restaurant. The service is missing very much. The staff were not attentive every time I need something I need to go to the counter bar area to ask about it. I was pretty excited with her menu and although the food was cooked well, the taste was not quite what I expected from southern Thai food or only Thai food in general. Need more salt (or fish sauce, soy sauce, whatever) and less sugar.

Was not too impressed. Since we sat all the way in the end room, it was hard to attract the attention of one of the waiters, and they did not really check us. We both felt like some light went with one of the recommendations of the chef that looked like an entree (not even trying to guess what it was called), and because everything else was too difficult to find out the identity I only chose the Pad Thai. Grief The Pad Thai was $ 18 ... This is an expensive pad Thai. Go for the lightest option, I asked vegetables about the chicken or the beef. They said it was alright, but still $ 18. A bit strange than most places that get less for vegetables, but still gone. Grief Pad Thai was nice, but it felt that it was pretty standard, and most Thai places serve this quality. Definitely not the $ 18 worth. The other dish was delicious, though a bit too sweet, and the leaves that came with it ran well together. Grief Overall, the food is not bad, but I only feel that it is overpriced, especially when there are so many great opportunities in the area.
