Contrabando - Sydney

First vist and will be back there was a fairly large group of us and we ordered the express lunch menu 5 courses for $20 amazing worth. the courts came out from one after another and were breathtaking. so delicious and a good mix of food everyone at the table was so impressed our waitress was happy friendly and cleared our empty teller free when she broke out the next cure

We landed in contrabando when we couldn't get a table in a nearby caffe and we're lucky. eating is delicious with options to share or have them themselves. we didn't have the $20 express lunch, but it's great. the grilled. eichhörnchen was amazing and I loved the fishtacos. good amount of options for gluten-free or vegetarian diners. decor is stylish and there are many rooms inside with some outside seats as well. several beer on hahn and weep on the glass.

Eating was good, had a cheap tacos deal and we are great with gluten-free options. our waitress was super rude and sassy had a generally unfriendly mood, but would recommend for a fish taco!

Read the full review of sweetandsourfork.com despite the attentat of tacos at a knock price, the dinner at contrabando was not as much joy as I expected. not only were the tacos best, and largely dependent on the sauces they served. the poor service also order much more stressful than it should have been. I said that I would come back because this is still probably the best Taco service. but next time I will make sure that only everything will go in one, and on the few options that I know to be good. with a somewhat forward-looking planning, this could work.

Realistically I would have rated this place 3.5 stars. Decided to scale up to a 4 considering the fact that our sampling of the food wasn't overly large and other factors, such as service and atmosphere were pretty good. We came here for taco Tuesday,...where the entire taco selection is $3, with the exception of the popcorn prawn. This impressed me to begin with, as a lot of other restaurants only have selected tacos on included in similar promotions. We got in just before the end of work rush and lucky we did, by the time we left there weren't many empty seats left. Atmosphere was therefore pretty lively, without being overly loud. A nice balance. Service was quite attentive and food came out promptly. We ordered 6 tacos and were served them in two increments, with about a 5 minute gap in-between. I liked this approach as it didn't clutter the table and allowed us to relax a bit more. Taco's themselves were good without being mind blowing. We particularly enjoyed the fish, chicken and beef variations. The others do pack a bit of spice which was a tad too much for us, but that's just personal preference. Overall a good experience, nothing exceptional but a nice place to relax after work if you're in the city.
