M K Bakery Deli - Tacoma

First time going here today and absolutely loved it! Got the combo ham sandwich with a strawberry sugarcane drink, hands down the best I’ve ever had. Such great friendly service and great food, what more could you ask for!

FIRST OFF: THIS IS A CASH ONLY ESTABLISHMENTY'all already know I've been checking out Tacoma trying to see what's good with the Bahn Mi situation. So lemme explain, this has the best Bahn Mi compared to Toast Mi and La Ca Bar. If y'all disagree give me a place to try and I'll give them a rating.Lemme explain why this is the best:1. Best Bread2. Every time I'm in the area, I have to make a stop at this place! I come for the sugarcane juice. Little small typical banh mi shop. The service is always friendly!

Hubby's classic was huge with lots of meat. My BBQ chicken was less stuffed, but still generous. Both were mild. I'd like more pickle to the veg and a little more heat from the peppers. Bread was terrific, but the chicken meat was pressed and disappointing.All in all I'd return, but I wouldn't get the chicken, and I'd ask for extra peppers.

I don't often leave reviews. I jumped on Yelp after eating the báhn mì I ordered on Door Dash. I've tried the báhn mì from the other places in Tacoma and they don't even compare. The bread...THE BREAD! Is so fresh and makes all the difference in a sandwich like this. The pork was so perfectly tender and seasoned. The veggies were so crisp and fresh. I found my new spot in Tacoma. Also highly recommend the Vietnamese coffee. 5+ stars. This is a hidden gem.
