The burritos and tacos were all tasty, along with the flavorful chips and variety of salsas. The atmosphere reminded me of Baja Fresh back home. We definitely plan on returning to Moe's in the future.
We ordered the children's cheese quesadilla meal with tamarind tea and a 6 oz queso dip with chips. They have a bar for complimentary dips and my favorite is the mango salsa. After placing your order and waiting to pay, you can watch as they prepare your food. The drink selection is limited and the kids did not enjoy the tamarind tea.
I was very disappointed with the employee who casually tossed the nachos into a takeout bag and then placed the burritos on top of them, without even using a separate bag. It was clear that she was too lazy to pack the order properly. I will not be returning to this restaurant due to the extremely poor service.
They have bigger burritos that Mexicali and have a several choices for add ons. However, their toilet is very small compared to the floor area of the restaurant and the floor was very wet and slippery.
The best things about Moe's Southwestern Grill in the states are the unlimited salsas, fast/friendly service and chips with every entree included. That's what they are known for and that's why people go there. You will NOT find these things at the Moe's Philippines. My first experience at Moe's was great. I am a Bistro card holder and I was also able to get the 20% off. The trainer from the states was there. The service was happy, inviting and generous. The salsas were always replenished and fresh. I had the stacks. The burrito was small (friend's ordered it) and the kids meal was totally not worth it. I told my husband I would go back again with him. The restaurant was packed.1 or 2 weeks later, I came back with my husband. They no longer gave the 20% off to the Bistro card holders even though it's a bistro restaurant. They just said the price was already too low. Hm...so does that mean that they will raise the prices next year, which is exactly what TGI Fridays and Italiannis did once they sold a lot of their cards? Raise the rate by 20% to cover the discount? We were pretty disappointed, but ate there anyway. The service was still friendly. The salsas were replenished, but only 3 or 4 kinds. We weren't really sold to come back again. The burrito was really small too that my husband received. I again ordered the stacks. The chips given were like 3 or 4 chips and they were stale. The restaurant was half full. There was a manager, but not the US one. This last visit was the worst. Just a couple of days ago. We came because we needed movie friendly meals for take out. There were 2 people behind the counter. There was barely anyone in the restaurant. It was dinner time. There were maybe 2 tables full. The 2 ladies behind the counter, didn't smile the entire time. They didn't say hello or welcome us. I ordered my usual stacks and my husband ordered the burrito. The chicken burrito large they put exactly 5 pieces of small bite size chicken. Seriously? Then we got the order and although it's unlimited salsa, they only would give us one salsa container each. Hmm.... THEN they didn't tell us before hand that there's a charge for taking it to go! They charged us for the bag and containers! Are you serious? Throughout the whole process, no smiles. No apologies. Nothing. 2 of the salsas were empty. Dry. We had to ask for more in the back. We paid everything and left. If Moe's corporate heard about this, they would want to take away their franchise license for sure.Terrible service.
