I popped in for dinner last night and I'm so glad I did It became the most enjoyable food experience I've had in Taipei so far. The mostly elderly staff are kindhearted, smiley and welcoming. Mind you, it's a very small shop perfect for a 1 or 2 person meal, but not for groups as there's not enough space. Whip out your google translate camera function as there's no English menu. Can't wait to go again tonight!
Was here July 2019. Saw this place listed on happycow and gave it a try. Here's my Xin Xin YiYuan Tang review. It's a basic little place with little room to nagivate and is overall a bit messy. The folk that run it are a few elders. They only speak Chinese but were friendly to point out the bakery items that are without egg or dairy. I tried the traditional style pastry with sweet mung bean paste inside, and it tasted fine. Some savory cooked dishes are laid out on a table, and you could just point to what you'd like to have it with white rice.
Small shop, open early breakfast. Buffet style, mostly vegan. friendly staff, but can hardly speak English. good value for money.
