Canopy Road Cafe On Gandy - Tampa

I recently discovered this restaurant on Yelp while searching for a new breakfast spot. It's been open for almost a year, but the location is a bit hard to spot from the road, which is unfortunate because the food is fantastic. Make sure to tell your friends about it! I had the avocado toast topped with goat cheese and pico de gallo, which elevated a typical dish to something special. The coffee was fresh, the service was excellent, and the menu is truly delightful!

The dining experience was fantastic, and the staff was very friendly. It can get quite crowded on weekends, but the wait is definitely worth it.

This restaurant could benefit from better management to improve its operations. The staff is quite slow and seems somewhat confused. It took 20 minutes after being seated just to place our drink order, and the kitchen service was also sluggish. Overall, I was really disappointed with my experience.

Looking at some of these reviews…the food might be great (I will never know) but the service is TERRIBLE!!!It was obvious that the waitress didn’t have a clue. She told us the veggie sausage had pork in it. I don’t think like that we snickered because Another waitress took over our table but did not do anything but introduce herself in passing and caught a serious attitude when we asked about our food.There was a third waitress (the nicest of them all) who brought our drinks after they had been sitting at the counter area for at least 10 minutes and I had to ask for them.But after about 45 minutes we asked where I food was, they claimed it was a lot going on but we watched as they took out food to other customers who were seated after us. This seemed very intentional. The fourth waitress taking the food out, who left our drinks on the counter, made it a point to make eye contact every time she took out another order.After an hour, with only fruit and pancakes brought to our table and majority of our order no where in sight. We left. Extremely disappointing experience. Wouldn’t recommend eating here.

I ordered the Irish Benedict (corn beef, poached eggs, hollandaise sauce, and English muffins), hash browns, well done, bacon, well done, and corn beef hash. I thought all of my breakfast items were well made and cooked to order. Unfortunately, the kitchen staff was challenged to make the food in a timely manner. Katrina, our server had to apologize on behalf of the kitchen staff. Katrina eventually gave a discount on the check. Hopefully they can get there kitchen in order and they will have another successful location in their chain.
