We haven't been in Leon for a few years, and this was the first time under the Kovid restrictions. So this time I can't rave over the salad bar, as I did before, but, still, with the stricter requirements, the staff did a... convenient work. And the mussels and pommes are as good as before. The only seat was outdoor, on the terrace, and it was really very pleasant. Definitely covid compliant. So you don't have to wait until the restaurants open completely Leon is worth a stop. And it opens about an hour longer than most restaurants for lunch, so you can take your time there.
Leon is a big name in the sea grocery store, so we thought we would literally benefit from our night in the Best Western next door. We arrived at 7.15 pm and just because within a short time the whole place was full....The service was fast and easy at first, but when the evening came forward, the staff was somewhat overwhelmed. But they smiled at all times and as efficient as they might have been. The result was that although the mouth were perfectly acceptable, the frits were lukewarm and soggy. It was obvious that the staff simply could not get up with the kitchen. We finished our meal with a gaufre de Leon, which was excellent. That's why the moyen comes up. Perhaps this ordinary experience was a single night only affair, but nevertheless the result could have been so much more satisfying for both customers and employees that the delivery was as efficient as it should have been. To repeat, the staff was very good, there was simply not enough of them on Monday night 23rd. December.
... you 'll love Léon 's menu. Three of us ventured into Léon in Thoiry for dinner one night last week, in spite of the fact that the menu was overloaded with mussels, mussels and even more mussel dishes. Mussels as a specialty a few kilometers from...Geneva? Mmmm. The grilled scampi turned out okay, an order of fish and chips as well. The Mojito was sublime!! We asked for a quiet table around the corner and were told that everything was reserved. We relaxed, ate, drank a couple of glasses of average wine but whoa lo and behold nobody ever showed up in the reserved area , this at 22.00, when we left. Try Le Casanova on the other side of the Best Western Park Hotel. We went there for dinner the following evening, ate well and were very happy. No problem with a quiet table around the corner.
