The gas fireplace was going while I was there. It was nice to sit by. The cheese selection is fantastic. Prices are decent as well. You can then go across the way to the milking barn and see the cows milked. Milking starts at 5am and lasts 5 hrs to get through all the cows. I would drive here to bring companyfor a neat experience.
The food is amazing! Very friendly staff great service! You can view all the cheeses that are aging from the restaurant. They have a gift shop with different types of cheese, beers, ice cream, candy, lip balm, treats, syrup more! They have a gigantic cow statue outside that I love! ???? Marieke Gouda also has farm tours for groups. My daughter went for GS one year and it was very interesting! If your in the area Marieke Gouda is a great family friendly place to visit!
It was incredible to witness the milking process, interact with the baby calves, and explore the wide selection of cheeses. A helpful tip: they offer cups of assorted cheeses, sell wine, and provide plastic cups. Truly a game changer!
Watching the milking process, visiting the adorable calves wrapped in blankets, and experiencing excellent customer service were highlights of my visit! I also got to enjoy freshly battered cheese curds made with Spotted Cow beer, which were processed just yesterday and served hot from the deli. This was an amazing and unexpected discovery!
Additionally, there's a charming gift shop and a small grocery store that pairs perfectly with the extensive variety of Gouda on offer—trust me, it was quite challenging to make a decision! I tried the clove Gouda, and even though I had to pick out the slightly hard cloves, the flavor was incredible. I’m a big fan of cloves, so that may have influenced my opinion. I also enjoyed their cumin Gouda, which was delicious melted over shredded rotisserie chicken. I apologize for not taking a picture of it; it was too delicious to wait! I promise to snap a shot next time. Overall, this place is definitely worth the drive from the Twin Cities. If you can't make it, I also found some tasty cheese at Whole Foods. Thank you for providing such delightful cheese!
