Porta Nova Cafe - Toronto

The food was fantastic and the service was outstanding. Leif was an attentive and knowledgeable server. Even though the restaurant was busy and I was dining alone, he provided me with first-class service. I will definitely be returning.

We went to dinner last night based on a recommendation. From the moment we walked in to the moment Leif held the door open for us as we left, it was one of the best dinners we have had in a long time. Leif was the perfect server. It was our first time at the restaurant and he made some helpful suggestions and assisted us in ordering our meal. We enjoyed a cowboy steak and sea bass, both of which were delicious. If all restaurants had a server like Leif and served great food, there would be many happy customers. Great job to Leif, Shane, and the rest of the staff.

Went there with my mom for dinner and had an overall great experience. It was great to find a Francesinha in Toronto and it was pretty good. It was missing linguica and fresh sausage (salsinha fresca) to be authentic but it has a lot of potential. The staff is very good and the restaurant looks great. I recommend Porta Nova and I will return to have a Francesinha again.

Wow today I came to Porta Nova just for a quick bit and was pleasantly surprise with a new cocktail menu. Our server Leif brought my drink to me with a smile and said, Sautee, I hope you enjoy! To my delight it was perfectly chilled and garnished. To the point where the ice cube was a proper size and the orange twist had primed the glass and had no pirth. This restaurant knows what they are doing. I am so thankful that this team has taken time to not only add in the details to their menus but also have taken the time to deliver great service!

This restaurant used to be my go-to spot for all of my business meetings. However, new owners took over last year and the quality has significantly decreased. I recently ordered a steak and fries and requested ketchup. Instead of receiving a bottle like the previous owners would provide, I was given a small cup and charged $3.00 for it. This level of price gouging was unacceptable to me and I will not be returning. I hope the previous owners open a new location soon.
