Feedback gevenWe visited this restaurant (now called Assemblage) twice during our short visit to Tournon-sur-Rhone. And every time it was really worthwhile! Firstly, the food was excellent in the best French tradition of fine food. They have a limited menu, which is normally a good sign that the restaurant is focused on delivering a special experience. And because we tried several of their dishes over two visits, we can say that every single one was exquisite. Then the wine: we asked for recommendations and these were absolutely spot on, complementing our dining experience. Finally there was the hospitality: the entire team is clearly committed to enhancing your stay by being attentive, without being in the way, and friendly in such a way that the entire atmosphere in the restaurant was homely. If you visit Tournon or Tain L'Hermitage, this is the place to spend your evening!
Atmosphere is really nice. The owner is friendly and food is amazing. Don't forget to ask for the special of the evening Pricing is very reasonable for the quality offered
Small and symphatic restaurant. They have a nice terrace at the back of the restaurant. The food is good and the wine list is interesting, with many small producers of which many are organic. The service is friendly – and they also speak English. One of the best places to eat in Tournon.
This was a superb choice for a birthday diné à deux. The menu is innovative, but all the dishes are prepared and cooked with traditional care and expertise. The starters of 'Tête de Veau' came in two forms (rillettes with nuts and en croute) and Asparagus Soup both offered fantastic flavours. Lamb for the main course had the great firm texture and depth of flavour of a mature animal without being tough. This was accompanied by a perfectly rendered sauce. Macarons filled with a bitter-sweet fruit cream rounded off the meal beautifully. Only the cheese course disappointed; there was no choice and the portions were mean. The layout and service is informal, with modern furnishings, bare tables and casually dressed staff. There is a hugh wine list, many being available by the glass so that one can accompany each dish with a different choice. At 33 Euros for 4 courses, excellent value.
The food and service at this charming restaurant is superb! How unfortunate that the whole experience was ruined by 3 children whose rude behavior was terrible! AND we discovered they were the children of the proprietor! The staff was very good: friendly and efficient. The chef has obviously taken great care with what is presented. It is innovative, very tasty and beautiful. The prices are very reasonable and up to the quality of a starred restaurant. Wine is available very inexpensively by the glass so the diner can sample different kinds by glass or carafe or bottle. The list is very good. But why did we and a full room of diners have to put up with the antics of 3 children who ran, crawled, pulled hair and hit each other and created mayhem while we tried to enjoy our meal? Usually French children behave well at restaurants and none of my 5 children or 11 grand children never acted this way in a public place! It was one of the best dining experiences we have had in our 8 years living in France, and the WORST behavior of children we have ever seen!
