Route 66 - Lancaster

I haven't gone there yet but my husband has and can't wait to take me there. He loves it.

My wife and I drove up from baltimore just from looking at the menu. We got the Tandoori Cheese steak and the Nashville hot chicken with onion rings and split it. Portions were great, and it was unbelievably affordable. The staff was very nice and personable. Both the bathroom and dining room area were clean. The food was amazing, and I can't wait to get back to try different things on the menu.

We ordered the cheese burger and a cheese burger sub ! They were great! Highly recommended!

I got 1 burger and the Nashville, hot chicken sandwich. The burger was good but definitely not the best in Lancaster. The Chicken Sandwich was phenomenal.

Nestled in the NW corner of Lancaster City, PA is a little gem known as the Route 66 Restaurant. If you 're looking for some kind of fancy food or atmosphere, this is not the place. However, if you 're looking for some good, quick food that is still reasonably priced, you are right on target. I just got a regular cheeseburger for my first visit and had them put their Route 66 Sauce on the side. I also ordered a small fry and, since it seemed appropriate, a chocolate shake. The shake was finished first and it was absolutely fantastic! The food came up shortly and was just as good as the shake. The fries were hot and salty, and the burger was fresh off the grill and very tasty. Now, I 'm not the biggest condiment sauce guy as I feel most things hide the taste of the food. However, I will admit, I did like their sauce. I believe it was Thousand Island dressing based with some mayo and various spices mixed in. A little sweet at the start and then follows with a little kick of tartness at the back end. Even dipped a few fries in there as well. Whether you 're into sauces or not, I think most people would enjoy theirs. I ordered straight from the counter, so there were no servers. A few tables needed to be wiped up but overall a splendid experience.
