Nutmeg - Tuckahoe

This restaurant offers a variety of vegan and gluten-free treats, soups, and a delicious vegan empanada pastry. The flavors are fantastic, and some of the vegan/gluten-free pastries are indistinguishable from their regular counterparts. My go-to items are the chocolate Mexican shortbread cookies and the red velvet crinkle cookies. Additionally, they serve delicious lattes, coffee, and teas.

This restaurant is one of our top choices when we're in the mood for something sweet. They consistently offer a fantastic variety of large vegan muffins, as well as options like vegan cookies and cupcakes. I once had a special vegan birthday cake ordered by my boyfriend (chocolate with mint icing), which was beautiful but a tad too sweet for our taste. While they also offer vegan empanadas, I would not recommend them as they are somewhat bland. The muffins are definitely the standout item at this place.

The staff is welcoming and the menu offers a delightful array of choices. I am happy to have discovered this restaurant!

Lots of marked vegan options including a variety of super tasty vegan baked goods (muffins, pies) as well as a daily vegan soup and to go meal options. The drinks are really good as well and they carry several vegan milk options. The pumpkin muffin is my absolute favorite. A great place to meet friends, study or grab a quick bite to eat. The only downsides are that they don’t have free parking and outlets for plugging in computers are not easily accessible from most of the seats. There’s been a few times lately where the quality wasn’t consistent on the muffins (way too oily and cooled densely), hopefully they sort that out.
