I also loved her veggie spring rolls. my friend got the veggie roll and loved her. the staff is super friendly and friendly. the inner was clean and so well organized that they feel welcome there. even if they have an allergy or special diet (vegan, paleo, vegetarian or keto let them just know the personal and they custom make their eat on their allergy or nutrition needs. I will definitely come back for more ingenious tasting eat! thanks to all the sushi guy ladies on tyler (university dr. location, who made my and my friends lunch so fantastic!
Crew was very nice. Sushi is made then and there, wok bowls are also available and are delicious. I got the Cali, Temptation and the Dragon sushi rolls. The Cali and Temptation were a bit plain for me, but they're great starter rolls for people who haven't had sushi before. The Dragon roll was definitely the highlight of the meal. Somewhat sweet and spicy. Would definitely recommend to other people.
The sushi rice was perfectly cooked but under seasoned. The nigiri had way too much rice and not enough fish. The Unagi needed to be seared or roasted. I love that they have so many sauce choices instead of just the same ol spicy mayo and eel sauce. They should toast the sesame seeds. Value is decent. Top notch customer service from Chase and the staff.
I'll qualify my review by saying that I give the service staff 3 stars. They were struggling to handle the noon rush and did a fair job. The stress showed in a reservedness to their service. It took around 20 minutes to get my Nigiri Tuna and fried dumplings. It was a takeout order which I ate about 10 minutes after getting it. When I opened the box, there was a marked smell of fish. I went ahead and ate it and the taste was not strong. The rice in the nigiri was warm, so my tuna was warm when I ate it. I didn't enjoy it at all. My dumplings were room temperature. Good taste and texture. I hope this standard was dictated by the noon rush and is not their norm.
Me and two of my friends went to try it out. We love sushi and have frequented several of the sushi places here in Tyler. The people at Sushi Guy were super friendly and greeted us kindly. I have nothing bad to say about the service, regardless of how I felt about the sushi. However, the sushi itself wasn't great and within a half hour of eating it, my friends and I all had food poisoning symptoms (nausea, vomiting, etc). We won't be eating there again.
