Gatakers Landing Restaurant - Urraween

I have been to this restaurant many times for lunch and dinner, my only choice in Hervey Bay.the menu is varied, beautifully presented by very friendly people. if it is a quiet night it is romantic and relaxed with attentive, relaxed service, just perfect.The view is spectacular sitting out on undercover verandahs amidst the trees and plants.It is licenced which completes the experience. I must mention the food, the oysters are so fresh, the Panko Prawns my favourite with a nice selection of home made desserts. it is easy to access and park.It is breathtaking on a moonlight night.

We had heard great things about this local cafe and my partner is an avid scone fan so was excited to try these out.Firstly the location is beautiful such a tranquil stunning location. The date scones were tasty and certainly fresh the only disappointment was the lack of dates in the scones and the terrible air rated cream that was served with them. The carrot cake was nice and again served with cheap air rated cream and the cake had no icing? Very unusual for carrot cake.Strawberry milkshake was a hit with our daughter. They do have a high chair available.

We sampled the white chocolate and cranberry scones, lavender scones, and strawberry tea at this restaurant... DELICIOUS! And the venue itself is absolutely charming.

We happened across this restaurant while out for a drive when we were staying in Hervey Bay. The setting is lovely in a nice garden and with a view of the sea. We went in for a coffee, but then found out they made scones to order and had two each with jam and cream. Delicious.

You are certainly paying for the view, which is remarkable, because the food was poor to average. The salad was wilted and stale and all meals are overpriced. I am happy to pay high prices for good food, but this was like cheap pub food at top restaurant prices. The decor is old and you have to wonder if your cutlery and plates are clean. They really need a complete makeover. I love the location and if it was clean and the food fresh, I would go back.
