One of them worked in the kitchen while the other visited customers. They were very pleasant and happy to answer any questions we had. The daily menu, priced at 9,000 CLP, included a choice of a vegan soup for starters, a main dish, a dessert, and a juice. The menu was available all day and could be made completely vegan. I tried two vegan cakes that were both delicious. They also offered homemade vegan bread, vegan cream sauce, and soy milk. Additionally, they had a selection of wine and beer available.
The couple who own this restaurant are very sweet, especially the woman. I ordered the set menu which included spinach soup and a choice of tomato sauce or pesto (I chose the tomato sauce). The soup was surprisingly delicious and served in a beautiful covered pot with house-made, garlicky croutons. The pasta was simple but exactly what I needed. There was no vegan dessert option, but the woman surprised me with a plate of small vegan cookies with powdered sugar, which was a friendly and welcome touch. I also had a glass of wine. The total cost was 12,600 CLP, which was reasonable compared to other meals I had in Valparaiso. While my meal wasn't amazing or unusual, it was delicious and exactly what I wanted after a long day of sightseeing. This place definitely does not deserve the criticism in some of the reviews!
While walking through Cerro Alegre, we stumbled upon this café housed in a typical Valparaiso building. They had vegan ravioli with Italian sauce and herbal lasagna on the menu, which were delicious albeit imperfect. The friendly owner made sure everything was to our satisfaction and even let us try one of his vegan desserts. Overall, a very enjoyable experience.
Don't eat them here! the owner is nice, but my god has torn us off! he offered us a special vegan ravioli without calling the price. initially there was hardly any ravioli on the teller when it was delivered, not enough for someone who had actually starved, and secondly it was incredibly forbidden that almost no filling was inside. to round it off, he accused us about 40 usd! I'm disgusting, don't waste your money here.
The owner greeted us warmly and explained the vegan pasta dish he could make for us. It was a fine tasting dish and we had bread and Austral beer to go with it. Finished the meal with apple pie and coffee. Cost was about the same as it would have been in Canada.
