Eight 1/2 Restaurant Lounge - Vancouver

Went for brunch this morning, and I give them three stars for several reasons. First, the server forgot to put my order in; second, the eggs benedict were cold; third, my scrambled eggs were burnt even after the order was forgotten and replaced. Besides that, the food was good - the bacon was especially good. The drinks were good too. And the server gave us one meal free and one double drink free. So, I would definitely go again and I am expecting different outcomes!

We stopped in for dinner after passing the fun sign for drink and appetizer specials earlier in the day. I had the $6 Pimms drink that was on special called the PG -13, (so refreshing and yummy!), my husband had the $4 gin and tonic and we shared the $8 baked brie. It was delicious. The spicy honey and strawberries were a really nice touch. For entrees we had the Cajun BC Salmon and the West coast spaghettini. Both were so fresh and delicious. The restaurant prides itself on local ingredients and you can really taste the difference. An added bonus was that the restaurant donates a meal to the needy when you choose certain dishes for yourself. So great! We will definitely be back and are so glad we stumbled on such a find on our first day in Vancouver!

We used an entertainment coupon for lunch...if you have an Entertainment Book, make sure you use this coupon as the food is great and the value excellent.There is metered parking all around the restaurant so it's easy to find parking. The restaurant is veriy informal and besides the tables, it has a long bar where you can sit for a drink. The menu is not large but has a good selection of sandwiches, salads, pizzas and appetizers. My husband ordered the smoked salmon pizza with dried cranberries and he loved it. I had the black quinoa and salmon salad and the salmon was very fresh and cooked to perfection. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We did not order drinks so the total bill minus the entertainment coupon was only $15. What a deal! Service was great! Our water glasses were constantly filled, and even though a large group of twenty had arrived just before us, we did not have to wait too long for our food to arrive. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!

Dropped in for a drink before a show. Met some people we new and were late for the show. Nice staff good drinks simple fare. Had some chips and salsa. Was referred here otherwise I never would have found it. Nice little place.

We had an entertainment book coupon and were in the area so we thought we'd try here. We are so glad we did! The server we had was good, it great (we sat ourselves and she plopped the menus on the table without a hello or any real acknowledgement), but seemed friendlier after our orders were taken. They food would bring us back. Really good pizza and the tuna sandwich was awesome with the side of tortilla chips and fresh made salsa (homemade tortilla chips instead of the store bought multicoloured ones would have kicked it up a notch though . Hopefully they read this suggestions and consider making their own chips to go with the salsa :)
