Every course was well thought out, and even though we ordered fois gras, we received a bonus fois gras dish after the excellent amuse. The lobster “three ways” was perhaps the other highlight although both deserts were spectacular. A special mention for the wine pairing that was perhaps the best I have had, all wines locally sourced as well. And bring your kids. The children’s menu is incredibly affordable and is to the same standard as the adult menu. C’est magnifique!. 10/10
The expectations were high when we arrived in one of the best restaurants in the area. But after a warm welcome from managers and owners in a very pleasant premise and some light refreshments and hors d’oevres to kick the evening, it began to go a bit downhill for a while: after we arrived 30 minutes early we were not really sitting until 30 minutes after our booking slot (i.e. an hour later), and the first course was a slept, though my wife was serving the kind of breadok. At least the bread was fresh. The main course improved a little: the lamb was perfectly cooked, but two murderous delicacies plus a strange combination of vegetables for €66 was bad value, and my wife omitted main course for a cheese selection of only three small pieces for just €30. Dessert was the redeeming dish (lighter than air Grand Marnier Souffle and a lush chocolate place) that had left us with thoughts about what it might have been. It was not a special occasion for us, thanks to goodness, but almost three hours drive to get there, at 258 € without wine for two people, it was overpriced and underwhelming. We would recommend the place for the ambience and the service was ok, but not the food (at least not at this price).
Very good cuisine, the perfect welcome, a real chic bistro, cosy atmosphere, we love.
