I started with slightly fried polenta bites in a spicy marinara sauce as an appetizer. For my main course, I had the special mushroom and bacon ravioli in cream sauce, which was so delicious that I was left speechless. The combination of flavors and spices was impeccable. I paired my meal with a light and refreshing peach and whiteberry sangria. The staff was attentive without being overbearing. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for amazing Italian cuisine.
We had to choose between Lot 1 and another restaurant nearby, I am very happy that we selected Lot 1 Pasta Bar. The menu was comprehensive, with pictures of pasta types for me that did not know the difference. The food was well presented, and above all...of all, their freshly made pasta was the greatest pleasure to bite in. Their homemade Tiramisu was our choice of dessert.
This was out 2nd visit to Lot 1 after having a great meal during the Dine Around Victoria event also loving Bin 4 their other place. We had mixed feelings this second time. As we know they can do better because it’s...a good local company I thought it was worth the comments my husband ordered the prawn carbonara it was very spicy, so much so he couldn’t eat all of it. The waitress wasn’t sure what to do mentioned that this was second time today getting the same comment. Perhaps they should have fixed the issue offered to redo the dish or offer a different selection. While we appreciate the discount on our bill we felt it was a big miss on the staff management’s end. We also had ordered the polenta bites which were very good but we weren’t told that we would be getting a small plate of them on the house had too much to eat. While this was happening they were training a new waitress which isn’t a good precedent to be setting with new staff. Actually there seemed to be a lot of staff so you would expect the service to be excellent but fell short. As I know their pasta dishes are quite large I wanted the smaller size but was told they’re only available at lunch. Another miss, along with a “so so” wine list. I think management the owners need to rethink their brand as it’s confusing seems like a deluxe place to dine (especially when dinner for 2 is over $100) but the food customer service is average at best. We know they can do better! I hope someone reads this review along with a few others realizes that this place needs some work.
This restaurant has a big shining star from us!! The polenta bites are out of this world and i am still dreaming about them lol The staff is excellent and so is the atmosphere. The pasta dishes my husband and i had were beautiful and...very tasty, and three days later i still haven't finished mine as the portions are so large. When we first got served i thought wow that is not very big but i tell you this is unbelievable great pasta and you don't need much to be satisfied, I will be back! Than you Lot !
Having recently moved to Victoria, I 've been trying to find a replacement for our Italian restaurant , The Tasty Tomato, left behind in Edmonton. We were pleasantly surprised when the restaurant generously supposed us with their Polenta Bits appetizer dish, which was delicious. My wife and...I both ordered Caesar Salad and Cacio e Pepe. The salad was very good, but quite excessive on the garlic I fished no less than 8 cloves of roasted garlic out of mine. The Cacio e Pepe was disastrous overly garlicy, red chilli flakes instead of the traditional black pepper, and an overabundance of burnt garlic so much so that it looked like bacon bits on top. The pasta was cooked perfectly, but that couldn 't redeem the dish. Our server (Ignacio) was outstanding. While the management comped our pasta, which was appropriate as we didn 't eat either of them, they could have offered a coupon or something to tempt us back as it is, we may not feel compelled to make the trip out of our neighbourhood to try again.
