Yep. You can buy some raw fish semen infused dishes, if you're into that sort of thing. Everything else is generally good, cannot vouch for the aforementioned dish as I'm not into "that part of the internet"
What you would expect to see from any sushi restaurant. The portions and price were good but nothing spectacular.
This location had been recommended to me by my father who had not been to Victoria in quite some time. The name itself had changed, but 726 Johnson St is still home to excellent sushi at a great value! You can choose to sit in traditional Japanese-style tables in the floor, or at a table and chairs. The staff was attentive and prompt. My friend and I each had miso soup (excellent) as a starter, and we shared the ebi tempura (it was delicious and had SEVEN pieces!) I got the chicken teriyaki which had a sweet sauce that went well with the meat. My friend had the spicy tuna which she declared to be amazing. Sorry no pictures -- we inhaled the food before we remembered!!
From the first time I got here I have enjoyed thier meals. they are beautifully made up. I love the sunken seating and the private rooms of the traditional Japanese eatery. I have a shell fish allergy and have never had any problems with cross contamination. I recommend the Chicken Teriyaki , Hosomaki and the Tamago Nigiri for safety but please tell them of any allergies and they will accomodate. My husband orders some of the most wonderful Drtagon rolls and various others and they are all so beautifully displayed and presented. you reallyget to eat with your eyes here.
