You can tell from the moment you walk in that this one, though new ... and fairly large ... has something special going for it. I was there for lunch on a Thursday, in November what you would expect to be a slow time ... but the dining room was almost full. The greeting was gracious ... the service superb, and the cuisine amazing, and I feel an exceptional value. Though it was just a luncheon, we felt like I wanted to stay all day.
With the plethora of dining options in the Vail valley, Restaurant Avondale in the Westin in Avon, Co delivered high marks on my few recent visits. Most impressive was the seasonal menu that had changed slightly with every visit, in an effort to highlight the freshest available ingredients. My last visit I had a slow roasted Colorado lamb shank with curries spice and fresh spring vegetables. It was amazingly cooked, the meat was the best lamb I've tasted in some time, and the spice complemented the dish perfectly. With the smart service and ambiance, great menu, and fantastic beverage choices, it's an easy recommendation for the Vail valley.
Since Restaurant Avondale opened, my friends and I don't have to drive to Beaver Creek or Vail for a great dining experience. We love everything about Restaurant Avondale: ambiance, food, service and prices. The Mussels...love at first taste!!!
Cold breezy night in front of open doors. Manager went in and out about 5 times through the tall door next to us! She was beautiful and charming but thoughtless. The food was less than tasteful. Server was nice, but obviously under pressure. Food was really nothing to write home about. Less that a fun night. AND we spent plenty too. I recommend Vail Village, almost everywhere is better than this high pressure, low quality, fake 'up scale '. Couldn 't have spent a worse evening of 'fine dining '. Don 't waste your money.
