Rudy's Bbq Shack

I stopped in for carryout. Ordered the sampler platter which had brisket, pulled pork, chicken, and ribs. I also ordered a side of Mac and cheese and green beans. The brisket and chicken were my favorites. The chicken was juicy and not dry which I find to be a common problem at BBQ places. My husband who has very discerning tastes thought it was all delicious as well. The mac and cheese was really good. While waiting, I chatted with the owner who is very friendly and seems like an honest business man. He had the server get me a sample of baked beans while I waited (which were also delicious and had brisket in them). The ambiance is quaint and I will definitely be going back and looking out for a restaurant by Rudy to hopefully open in portage!!!!

This place is great. One of my go to places for good bbq. Reasonable price and laid back environment and Rudy is an awesome guy to talk to. I recommend this place to anyone who loves smoked meat!

This is my 2nd visit. The first was carry out rib tips.... Fantastic. This time was fine in with my wife. She had the Rob tips again. Again excellent. I had the brisket sandwich...yum. I also got a sample of the pastrami, likely to order it for my next visit. I love this place, and drove from Crown Point IN to eat here, worth the drive.

Went for the first time and had the best nachos I've ever eaten. And the pork mac and cheese burger was also out of this world! Such a delightful lunch. Best place in town, hands down! You get what you pay for. Great people too..

Experienced this last nite, and can hardly wait to return! The aroma of the place smells so good!! Loved the spicy BBQ sauce, great flavor/not hot! Loved the big burrito! Hubs had the brisket sandwich, and loved it!!
