This vegetarian restaurant in East Sussex was visited by a vegan who was looking for options for their diet. The restaurant was listed as vegan-friendly on HappyCow, but the vegan options were limited. The menus didn't have vegan options listed and the food in the glass display was mostly not vegan. The vegan diner was able to find a pasty and ordered it with salad, but some of the salad had mayonnaise and feta, despite requesting vegan food. The overall experience was disappointing as the diner had hoped for more vegan options and clearer communication. The restaurant was also considered overpriced. However, the restaurant itself was beautiful and would be recommended for vegetarians. The shop had a good variety of options for both vegetarians and vegans.

This is a very nice vegetarian joint this review is from the perspective of a vegan on the look for an outlet deposit for their preferred nutrition in east sussex. we decided to visit this place as it is listed as a vegan-friendly on happycow, which can apply for the shop part of this place, but I don't think it's particularly accurate about the café part. the menus on the tables contained no vegan options, and when I asked the waitress what options there were, she showed me to the front of the shop where there are some food in the glass display. the eating was clearly marked, mostly as not vegan still, there was a pasty I would have, so I ordered one of them to a little salate with him. the waitress said the pasty came anyway with salate. when my order arrived, a part of the salat was coated with him in mayonnaise and some had feta in it, despite the fact that I think I made it very clear that I wanted only vegan food. this is the kind of openness that I would expect with the majority of the restaurants, but I had hoped for a more relaxed visit where I could eat vegan food without having to feast on it when ordering. I also found it pretty overpriced. on the positive side, the place itself is beautiful, and I would recommend the place for vegetarian. the shop itself has a large selection for vegetarian and vegan alike.
