My family just stayed there for a week. The first room we got had horrible fish smell but they quickly switched us to another room and helped us move. Everyone working on the properly is nice and friendly, and very prompt to our requests.
Our favorite go to place to stay on the Big Island. It is an older resort with not a lot of amenities but not crowded.
Travelled with 13 people (3 families in total. Overall, it was a great experience. Booked two units via HGVC and one unit via RCI. All 3 rooms were Villas and they were able to put us all close really together. We were hoping to all be in the same Villa building, but that's not a big deal at the end of the day. Units were huge!!! Staff was great to us and explained what we had access to and did not have access to as Elite members. Whenever we were short towels or needed some extra supplies they were relatively quick to bring those supplies to us. One night we had water leaking down into our Villa from the room upstairs and the staff quickly addressed it. Apparently, the kids in the upstairs unit were using their giant bathtub as a swimming pool. My only real complaint is that our unit of the 3 I booked ended up being an ADA accessible room. While the fact that it was an ADA accessible room is not an issue, what we noticed was that compared to the other two Villas that our friends were staying in, our particular Villa seemed a little older (with older appliances and etc... . Outside of that, we loved staying at the Bay Club with our kids and will probably do the same again during our next stay if we can.
2 small pools. Not enough activities. Some units like mine had to pay $100 per person per day to enjoy the larger pool . Remote location.
