I would recommend this cake-mash shop to anyone who my family has been going for years and as soon as I was on solids I was now, my nan grandad since she was young it is the best traditional cake-mash shop they will ever eat, from I would not go anywhere else.
Better now the pfannen in .. is to die for my opinion after. visit this shop for about yrs. pity that they upgraded the load when it was so nostalgic. but that didn't stop me as often as possible.
Despite the growing up in london, I was first before my recent visit to harrington in tooting in a cake and maischeladen. on request of my pie loving northern friend we have been interested in selkirk road to try this top rated london establishment. not torment here, but a traditional iondon cake and maic with long benches and flowing walls. to my disappointment (ahem) there was a sign that reads “no shaking aale”, they were all out. So we have our attention to the rest of the menu, it was, cake, maize and liqueur or perhaps cake, maize and liqueur, or even cake maize and liqueur and so the list goes on. By the way, if you ask yourself what is likör, it is a parsley-based sauce that has a regrettable green slime look, but is in a round instead of gravy (and not as bad as it looks). the atmosphere reminds of “Ostverdiener”, there is a headphone that wears teenage boy, and there are local families to lunch, all add to the charm. this is an authentic London experience that it is worth, and with the bill on around, for it is also a good value.
I've been eating here since the early 80s. Best P&M ever!!! Love the place, the staff and the food. Shame it's been refurbished as I loved the old long benches, it had so much character. The food is still the same though so they are forgiven.
