King Valley Fine Foods Epicurean Larder

No longer trading as a coffee shop in Wangaratta, and due to close soon also at Whitfield, however this is more a comment on their delicious products which will still be available from the Whitty cafe at Whitfield.(and other independent stores locally and via independent supermarkets). Gluten free pies, chutney and pesto and sauces, all absolutely scrumptious. Shame they are closing the coffee shop as the owners are just lovely too, but probably for some well needed r and r!

I had the opportunity to sample a variety of dishes at this restaurant, including chutney, pesto, and crackers. I ended up purchasing the delicious tomato and capsicum chutney, which had a nice spicy kick to it. I also bought a jar of the 'fartalot' bean dip, which I was told is great on toast but should be enjoyed in moderation due to its potency.

Food at this venue is good and reasonably priced. However, when you eat in the staff are attending to packing of goods for sale and aren't quick to attend to customers who are dining in. I would still visit again, given the food is good and the service staff are friendly when they get to you.

I can't believe gluten free food and taste so good! The service was great and the food had heaps of flavour.

I often go here for lunch or to buy some prepared meals for dinner or even a takeaway coffee. It closes around 430pm so you can't leave it too late to forget dinner plans if you want to buy take-away. The soups and pies are tasty and hearty. Even the curry has a good flavour. I must admit even though I am not gluten free I sometimes buy this food and have no regrets. The sandwiches are full of tasty ingredients. There is a review here mentioning the salted caramel brownie - I have bought this to share and it was so good that no-one in my house got any!!
