16 years old the sign says under 14s can’t come in I bought a drink but still got kicked out by the old strange women who can’t read there own signs and was rude and patronising and us a disgrace to the pub
This place is full of horrible owners especially the old woman behind the bar she’s really rude and doesn’t appreciate people.
Visited with family. Lovely beamed building. The 2 course meal for £15.75 excellent value for money. I had the steak pie..meat very tender with gorgeous gravy creamy mash, carrots, swede, cabbage and cauliflower. In other words, hot, good, copious wholesome and traditional food. I am a huge fan of high quality, unpretentious cooking. For dessert, my niece had syrup sponge with custard. I had cheesecake drizzled with strawberry sauce. The service is prompt and the team is friendly and professional. The only teensy critique is that the tables are a bit small for four persons, making it awkward to place the side dishes as well as plates and glasses. This is, however, a small note. The inn, located just next to Newchurch Church, is picturesque. A lovely Summer evening, delightful surroundings and company, great food. Doesn't get much better than that.
Best kept secret in Culcheth village for Sunday lunch. All freshly prepared and delicious. Food not served on other days of the week but that doesn't stop the Pack Horse from being a very warm and welcoming pub with a proper village pub atmosphere. The licensees are always front of house and extremely friendly. There are always free pies and cheeses on the bar early in the evening on a Friday when there is a good early drinking crowd. The last time we were there with friends the landlord came round the bar to join his customers, something he does regularly. He put music on which everybody including himself sang along to. Great evening, lovely warm lively atmosphere. Really enjoyed it.
