When we got there the atmosphere was magical. It looks like a secret little door from the outside and once you get in, the restaurant is lively and colorful. There are so many special unique touches, like the fun bathroom sinks. We had the Tawle Menu and it was some of the best food I have ever had in my life. Every sauce, dip,
Maydan, a truly unique dinning experience. You feel among friends the minute you enter. You are instantly captivated by a rich and sensual atmosphere, from the fire pit, hanging cured meats, the aromas, the music, the cocktails, the wines, the staff, all culminating in a display of succulent dishes. I waited to write a review until my third visit, it felt too good to be true at first, only to get better every time. I can't wait to return. A gem of a place.
A great mix of middle eastern cuisine, while feeling completely unique at the same time. Eat here, you won't regret it. It's hands down one of the best restaurants I've experienced. food: beyond delicious, lots of variety drinks: unique and fun staff: wonderful atmosphere: perfect
Let me just start saying that I was in several fine dunes in dc, and this is the only place that does justice to the money it requires. what an experience! let me say something louder again. what a surprise! everything is excellent. excellent service, starting with the highest level of courtesy that I have seen with the staff. very emotional intelligent staff that is rare. the detail they all have in the description of food is impressive. her mindfulness is incredible. I wish I could only give the service 10 stars. that was amazing. all in this three cursor meal. the apps were fresh, crispy and each of the seasoned were so pronounced and tasteful. the lamb was amazingly boiled. smoky and mild, as I love a beautiful grilled piece lamb shoulder. the kebabs were excellent. especially the bark kebab. the amount of taste and texture on this kebab was excellent. the desserts weren't super impressive, but I can go with, because I don't have much of a sweet tooth. maydan should be one for all restaurant goers. also here, the only fine eating and Michelin Star Square I was that is justness to the money it requires.
A friend recommended this spot to us, but unfortunately, we didn't plan very far ahead for our trip, so there were no reservations available. I set an alert and was able to book one when it opened up last minute. We got the Tawle menu with the Grilled Butterflied Bronzini as our center plate. The meal is $75/person with your choice of one center plate. It was a lot of food, so I thought it was worth the price. My favorite things were the spreads (all 3 of them), the Halloumi, the Koobideh, and the Chicken Shish Taouk. I love that they give you as much bread as you want so you don't have to try to conserve a few pieces. I wish there were a cheaper option with no center plate because we were already full by the time ours came and I really didn't need that much food. We eat once a day and usually eat more than most in a single meal, so I would be surprised if most people finish the meal. The outdoor seating area is in the alley and we really enjoyed it. It was quiet since it was off the main street. Overall, we loved the experience and would definitely recommend it.
