There were 3 Greek restaurants in the area, but the most comprehensive menu was...at Mediterraneo at the end of a stripmall in Waterloo. The menu was thrilled with many of the usual Greek elections. We decided to share a Taramasolata and Pita appetizer that was an enormous scoop of delicious diving. In view of the generous portions of their entrées (we chose a chicken souvlaki lunch that came with rice, very lemony potatoes, And one side of Greek salad We were quite filled. Size of the portions is less important than their quality and quality was excellent. It is really called a family restaurant and is not too elegant or quiet. The service was excellent and the prices were reasonable. We paid $13 each for Souvlaki lunch and another $7.50 for the appetizer that met us as eminently reasonable. It is certainly the best Greek food we had eaten since we left Toronto 4 years ago. We'd be happy to come back in the area. Just a very small quibble: They contain a small paper cup tzatziki (Why not a more beautiful cup? And then you would charge a Loonie (C$1, if you wanted a 2nd cup. This seemed a strange anomaly – as if you had to pay more if you wanted more ketchup.
I love this restaurant. After eating in Greece, I find that her food is a real reflection of Greek cuisine. I have often denied myself here and have never been disappointed. Prices are reasonable, servings are big and everything is so delicious!
Today we visited this restaurant for the first time in years and we were not disappointed. The Gyros and chicken Souvlaki were delicious. Our server was friendly, attentive, and did not rush us. The prices were reasonable and overall, it was a great meal.
I have always loved the food in Mediterraneo, so I was excited to break our Covid pattern at home. Unfortunately, our experience in this time was just a train, and quite infuriating. One hour after we arrived, we sat there and stared at our glass of water and the remains of a tzatziki launch plate, while people who came to us as good as 45 minutes had delivered main courses to them. Our server, when we carefully protested the long waiting period, apologized for the slow service, but it really felt like someone had dropped the ball in the kitchen or the server had just forgotten us. We decided to go, and on the way looked a massive number of take-out orders ready for pickup. You need to organize yourself with sufficient staff and someone to monitor the efficiency of the kitchen.
We ordered a Souvlaki dish that was unusually salty when it was delivered. After calling to express our dissatisfaction, the owner personally reached out to us and offered to replace the meal during our next visit. True to his promise, he did so. We were very impressed with the level of customer service. It's worth noting that we have dined at this restaurant before and the food has always been excellent.
