Mt Duneed Estate - Waurn Ponds (VIC)

Some members of our group arrived 15 minutes early and were asked to wait due to Covid capacity restrictions. They were not offered a drink while waiting. The service was adequate but not attentive, and the food was also just adequate, not outstanding. There were several changes from the printed menu without any consultation, and some items advertised on shared platters were missing, but provided when asked about. The ambience was as good as you could expect in a large open hall. Overall, it was still an enjoyable afternoon.

The service was slow and we were not informed about the 2-hour time limit. We were asked if we wanted coffee, placed our order, and then the waitress returned to inform us that they could no longer serve us coffee and our seating time was over, even though I still had a full glass of Pinot noir. We drove all the way from Melbourne and were disappointed to be served champagne in a chipped glass. When I mentioned this to the waitress, I did not receive an apology. Overall, I was very underwhelmed with my 40th birthday lunch.

I would appreciate it if there was less cheese on the zucchini pizza. Apart from that, the food was delicious and the service was excellent.

The restaurant was dark and cold and the seats were cold. The others on our table received their meals however, mine arrived a good 5-7 minutes later. The food was very average. I had the lamb sliders and when it arrived the chips were luke warm leaning towards the cold side. The dishes were below average and not worth the value. Would not recommend this restaurant.

A bit crowded with not a great choice of food perhaps choose a smaller winery? Kitchen closed an hour after our booking and tired staff turned on the lights to give us the message to leave
