Plate Pleasures Eatery - Wauwatosa

They hooked us up pre-Christmas this year! When we want a home cooked southern style meal, we come here. And we come here often. At least every 3 weeks. And they never disappoint, no matter what we order. They plate it to go, nice and neat and the fried foods stay crispy! And I tell everybody at work if they want a good Ole country meal come here.

Hands down the best soul food and customer service ever! I love catfish, but I don’t order it often because the breading isn’t good and the fish isn’t fresh. However, this place has the best catfish I’ve ever had! Breading is on point and the fish is as fresh as it gets! Everything they make is so darn good and the presentation is gorgeous! Looks like it came out of a magazine every time we order! They truly treat you like family here too, the nicest people! Just ordered a sweet potato pie for Thanksgiving with the family… and OH EM GEE!!! So so good! There is nothing they don’t know how to do! My husband and I are frequent flyers and customers for life!

First time visiting. Atmosphere was fine. Staff was nice and friendly, prices were a bit high for me but I wanted the food so bad I made an exception. I had the catfish dinner with Mac yams and dressing. The only thing I enjoyed was the fish. It was fire! The cornbread was dry, the Mac was flavorless, the dressing was a bit salty and the yams were too sweet for my liking. Also I had Maybe five yams and underneath was basically mashed sweet potatoes. I am a child of a woman from the South so I know good food. Looks great but taste not so good. I most likely won't visit again.

We drove all the way from Madison but before we drove we called to see if they were open and they were VERY VERY NICE and gave us the whole run down of the menu. When we got there they were patient and gave us a run down of the menu again, gave us suggestions. We ordered 5 meals for our family and waited till we got back home to eat, food was STILL hot and fresh. YALL ONE PLATE CAN FEED 2 PEOPLE…I am not joking. They food was so good and they customer service matched how good the food was. 10/10 we will be back

So starting off I was a little dissatisfied because they were suppose to open at 12PM but when I called was told they wouldn’t open until 1PM so to staffing shortage, when I arrived at 1PM I then was told they wouldn’t open for another 15mins because they are waiting on a cashier. I was their first customer. The food came out hot. I ordered Smothered Pork Chops, Greens, Spaghetti, and a side of Dressing a pecan glazed sweet potato pie which total was $38.04. Overall everything was delicious except the greens. The greens were bitter, no seasoning or flavor and just not good at all. The pork chops were so soft and delicious and full of flavor as well as the dressing. Overall I am pleased. Would definitely come back. Whoever the cashier is she should definitely smile more and be more welcoming. She seemed tensed and irritated, wasn’t welcoming considering she’s the face of the business when someone comes.
