This restaurant was a unique find, offering a diverse menu with a cozy northern atmosphere. We visited on a Sunday just before the season started, and it was the only restaurant open in the city. The menu was varied, with influences from Caribbean, Asian, and local cuisine. Some dishes tried to blend these influences, but the overall theme of the restaurant was unclear. It was challenging to navigate the menu as not all ingredients were listed, making it difficult for those with dietary restrictions. However, the food was excellent. The prices were a bit higher than other restaurants in the area, but justified by the quality of the food and service. Complimentary bread and soup were served before each meal. Some items were unavailable, which was disappointing. My dish arrived 5-7 minutes later than my friend's, which was unexpected. The restaurant could use some upgrades in decor. Overall, the food was good and I would consider dining here again.
Very cozy place with a warm and friendly ambience. The food was extraordinary! I had Lake Superior Trout and my husband had Ham Steak. We agree that it was one of the best meals we ever had! The service was superior. Look forward to return. The place is very small. Would recommend calling after reservation.
This restaurant is amazing! The food is straightforward, yet expertly prepared. When we showed up without a reservation, the place was filled with both locals and tourists, so we ended up sitting at a communal table. It was a fun experience! We had some delightful conversations about our shared love of food. We ordered the fresh local fish, which was lightly seasoned with smoked lemon. It was delicious.
We were doing the Circle Lake Superior Driving Tour and stayed overnight in Wawa. This restaurant is outside town a bit. This restaurant is a breath of fresh air up north . The families roots in Trinidad and before that Europe and India are reflected in...one of the most diverse menus I have ever seen. The chef is the owner 's brother and truly deserves the title chef . We sampled soups, appetizers main courses and desserts...everything was top notch and chatting with the owner was a pleasant side benefit. Make reservations...enjoy a treat.
