It was such a relief to dine out as a person with celiac disease and not have to worry. The Woodcocks offers a dedicated gluten-free menu with plenty of options. We often have issues with cross contamination, but did not experience any of that here. I had no stomach pains the next day. It was a relief to finally feel like I belonged and not like an outsider. Thank you.
You really do get what you pay for! The food and service were fantastic. We paid £69 for 5 main meals, 1 side, and 3 desserts. Having New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc available was a pleasant surprise for a chain pub. It was a great family meal overall. Leona, our server, was especially lovely and engaging. We really enjoyed her service.
Very cold in the restaurant needed to kept keep jacket on Food was fine nothing special but quite pricy for what it was Fine for a quick lunch most likely won’t return
Upon arriving, the greeter did not allow us to finish what we were saying before pointing us to a table. The lady who took our drink food order was very pleasant helpful explained there was a 45 minute wait for food. Vouchers had been distributed locally offering 30% off main courses. It appeared that the establishment had not anticipated the number of customers this would attract. The starters arrived quite quickly. The soup only filled 1/3 of the bowl, so looked like half a portion. We waited a further hour for our main courses the roast dinners were really not worth the wait. The carrots broccoli were cold, the roast potatoes were soggy, the Yorkshire pudding was flat the mashed potatoes tasted like instant mash. The toilets need a good clean, there was water all over the floor, cobwebs what appeared to be dead insects in the light fittings. Unfortunately, we will not be returning to this establishment.
