The White Horse Inn - West Somerset

Stayed for 2 nights. The staff (I presume father and son) have no sense of customer service. Not friendly on arrival. Room adequate and clean. But went out and returned at 10.10 to be told the bar was closed, no more drinks would be served and was then told I couldn’t go up the stairs in the bar to my room as the door was locked so I had to walk outside the pub to gain access to the room even though the bar still had people in it. Attitude very poor, when asked why I was just told you should have been told when you booked we close at 10.00. Well I wasn’t. What pub closes at 10.00 but still allows the locals to drink but residents not.

Paid a long overdue visit having read mentions of it in the past , had very enjoyable lunch with my daughter . We would certainly come again . The regulars obviously were enjoying themselves .

Booked in for a meal after visiting Dunster Castle. Best pub meal we've had for ages. Highly recommend it, wish it was closer to where we live! Very friendly staff too. We had gammon, scampi and duo of pork loin chops, all delicious and large portions too.

I decided to stop by a charming pub while waiting to visit someone in the area. Upon entering, I noticed there was only one other customer present. As I enjoyed my drink, I overheard the bartender loudly swearing at a message on her mobile phone while speaking to the other customer. I found her behavior inappropriate and unprofessional, and suspected she may have been drinking. Disappointed by the atmosphere, I decided to leave after finishing my pint (which I didn't particularly enjoy), visiting the unclean restroom, and saying goodbye to my friend who no longer frequents the pub due to the negative experience. It was a regrettable situation for the local patrons.

The White Horse is a fantastic pub that we stayed at for 2 nights. The rooms were lovely and very clean, with a beautiful view of the river. The food was delicious, although the portions were quite large for us. However, we didn't mind that at all. All the staff were extremely friendly and cheerful. We highly recommend the White Horse.
