This is not a place where you cook all the meat at your table or where they change the grill plate frequently; instead, it offers a mix of Korean-style BBQ with regular restaurant service. The meat selection is decent, with thicker cuts that take longer to cook. The simple side dishes are very good. The waitstaff may spend more time at your table due to the thickness of the meat. However, I was disappointed when we ordered pork belly to grill at our table and it was cooked in the kitchen instead, with an additional charge of $25-30 on top of the three meats we already had. Overall, while it may not compare to an authentic Korean BBQ experience, it is worth a visit to try something different.
I visited Wafu BBQ to celebrate a birthday and tried the beef dish, which was delicious. The service was friendly and made me feel right at home. I will definitely return in the future.
I frequent an optical store near this location. I have always noticed the Southport location but was unaware of the differences. The Westport location specializes in Korean BBQ, while Southport focuses more on noodle dishes. I found this hidden gem intriguing. I decided to stop by for lunch one afternoon and was pleasantly surprised. Having had Korean BBQ in NYC before, I must say this is very comparable. The side dishes were all delicious and never-ending. The service was exceptionally friendly and attentive during the busy lunch hour. We ordered the bulgogi and pork belly, which was a fantastic combination. I enjoyed sitting at our tabletop grill with minimal exhaust fumes as our food cooked. To finish off our meal, we had the fried ice cream, which was delicious and crunchy. I recommend visiting for a late lunch before the dinner rush, as it tends to get busy after 5pm. If you're in the area, I highly recommend trying out Wafu Westport. You won't be disappointed!
Simon was a great host. we are here twice and every time it is better to drink from service to eating all amazing 10/10 would recommend to everyone.
This place was found by the walk in the opposite. I did it! everything in her menu is very good. their appetizers are different and somewhat groundless. they are “free”. the price of eating is not bad. good every penny worth. her service is exceptional. this was our 3rd time in 2 months and they already recognized us and even remember where we sat and some of the things we liked! we are going back definitiw as this is our goal to go to the place
