Gia Mia Wheaton

We sat at the bar for dinner due to the potential wait time for a table. Due to us not drinking alcoholic beverages, we werent given much attention by the bartender/server. It took longer than usual to get service, get our bill and be able to pay to leave. I would highly recommend waiting for a table.

The weather was nice enough to dine outside. The open white tents protected us against the harsh sun.

Updated 7/24 sorry to say, everything has gone downhill. The food, especially the service, and even the drinks are lacking.

My wife and I recently visited GIA MIA , an Italian restaurant in Wheaton, around 8 PM. Despite the restaurant being full of patrons enjoying their meals and drinks, our experience was far from pleasant due to the rude and unprofessional behavior of the manager. Upon arrival, we were seated and given menus by the hostess. When our waiter informed us that the kitchen was open until 9 PM, we promptly ordered a pizza, pasta, and burrata appetizer. However, the waiter walked away before we could order drinks. After a few minutes, I managed to catch his attention and asked for a beer for myself and a Prosecco for my wife. To our surprise, he told us that the bar was closed. I looked around and saw that the bar was still serving other customers. I asked the waiter if he could check with the manager or someone else to see if we could get our drinks, especially since our food order had already been taken. He returned and said no, the bar was closed. This was baffling, especially since the bar continued to serve drinks to other guests throughout our meal. Feeling unfairly treated, I went to a nearby Mexican bar across the street and brought back two draft beers in plastic glasses. As we waited for our food, the manager approached us, visibly upset. When I tried to explain that I had managed restaurants for five years and that his behavior was unprofessional, he became even more agitated and started shaking. Ultimately, we left GIA MIA and chose to dine at the Mexican restaurant instead. The experience at GIA MIA was so negative that we won't be returning unless the owner personally explains what happened that night and offers an apology. Our evening at GIA MIA was a major disappointment, and I cannot recommend this restaurant based on our experience.

We looooove Gia Mia. Small plates just perfect amount of food to share we always get 3 or 4. We go there almost every weekend.
