They can’t seem to cope if it’s too busy, lasagne was dry, burger buns were rock hard. I mean it’s clean the staff are friendly but the food not good would not return nor recommend
Walked to The Boot Inn in Berwick St James from the Stonehenge campsite for an evening meal. We had faggots and the pork loin chop in cider and both were hot and very tasty. They came with vegetables including red cabbage, and were perfect for a cold November evening meal. Puddings were cheesecake (great) and sticky date and finger pudding and custard (delicious). We were given a warm welcome and really enjoyed the whole experience.
Went for a meal last Saturday made very welcome, great table in the corner and the lady got some water for the dog, food was superb and good beer.
What a Disaster! The website for this pub refers to the previous owners/management and, apparently, cannot be changed. The welcome, service and kitchen are, at best, adequate. One staff member to welcome customers, run the bar and provide table service says it all she did her best. The coffee machine is broken and there is no “instant”. As to the kitchen, if your priority is quantity rather than quality, this is your go to place. The word in the village is that the change has not been for the better.
