When I inquired, the staff was unable to provide me with any immediate vegetarian selections for the evening. After checking with the kitchen, they could only offer one vegetarian option. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this restaurant.
I made a reservation for a table on Friday, August to meet my daughter who was visiting from Alpes Maritime. We were traveling a long way to have lunch together. I usually don't like gastropubs because many of them are pretentious and overpriced, and sometimes you leave feeling hungry after receiving small portions of fancy cuisine. However, Uncle Tom's Cabin exceeded our expectations. When we arrived, we were seated outside on the terrace because the weather was perfect. It was a truly wonderful experience. The food was excellent, with flavors that we all enjoyed. Some of us had the Lambshanks, while I opted for fish and chips since I don't eat meat on Fridays. We also had some bottles of red wine. The service was attentive, discreet, and professional. The staff allowed us to enjoy our meal and conversation but also noticed if we needed anything. We all agreed that the food was delicious and filling, so we didn't have room for dessert. Overall, we felt well taken care of and satisfied. I would gladly travel a long way to experience this again and highly recommend Uncle Tom's Cabin to anyone visiting the Thames Valley. You will not be disappointed, and it offers excellent value for your money.
I have been to this restaurant multiple times and it always offers great value. The food is better than average, the service is friendly, and the pub has a beautiful, secluded garden area.
Excellent food as always and friendly service. We have eaten here several times now and will keep coming back as food on offer is varied and all very tasty.
Visited for lunch back in April shortly after phase restrictions were lifted which meant we could have lunch outside. Well organised and a good set up with seating in the garden and on the patio under a large gazebo. Very good friendly service and...the food was simply excellent, lovely presentation and wonderfully delicious.
