I usually do, but we were doing some shopping at Lowe 's (next door practically) and we decided to give this place a shot. Here 's our experience on a nutshell. My family and I went for lunch on Sunday. We were the only customers in the restaurant, which immediately raise a red flag but didn 't walk out. 1. Customer Service: We were greeted by the only staff there, she was also our waitress. She was cold and gave us the impression that we were bothering her with our presence. My mother had a question about an item on the menu...again cold, acted like her question was a bother (like we should know). 2. Atmosphere: It was OK...if you want to go watch a soccer game and have beer. I saw Happy Hour specials signs which were appealing for that type of thing. 3. Food: My kids ordered the mini-burritos, they got this HUGE burritos Chiptle size...we asked the waitress if that is a mini , she said yes. They were all rice, not very flavorful at all (Chipotle far superior). My dish, my wife 's dish and my mom 's dish were not any better, too salty, didn 't look fresh, didn 't taste fresh, and yes still a cold waitress that seemed to be more annoyed every time we asked her questions. Keep long story short, this was our worst lunch experience ever! And to top it all off, my 4 year old daughter and wife, got FOOD POISING!!! STAY AWAY!!
DO NOT EAT HERE! This restaurant was also known as La Luna, located at the same address as Restaurant Abi Azteca Grill and Bar. From the outside we saw signs that this place did way too much, like subs, Mexican, and salads. When we walked in the restaurant was empty and there were a few people at the bar. The menu had lots of different cuisines like Italian, El Salvadorian, Mexican, subs, and American food. My wife ordered the Mexican burritos which came out with canned beans and rice not wrapped like a burrito with cold slices of American cheese on top of each burrito. My wife sent it back and the waiter said he would fix her the other Mexican burritos. I finished my fajitas, which were not very good. The menu also said there food was made fresh, I highly doubt it. The rice and beans brought out with my food were from a can an bag and tasted terrible. My stomach was upset the next day. I highly recommend that you pass this restaurant up and go down the street to El Paso Mexican Restaurant.
I came to this place for lunch on Friday the 20th around 12:30-1. The moment I walked in with my co worker the bartender who ended up being our waitress looked at us as if she didn't want us there. As if we were going to interrupt her. With this in mind i thought maybe she had a bad day. she walked over to our table and doesn't even introduce herself. So I tried to interact with her. I asked how she was doing and even asked what she would recommend from the menu. All she gave was simple answers. Not helpful at all. Then after we placed our order, she started having a conversation with a guy at the bar. Our table was not too far from the bar we were able to hear the whole thing. She was cursing and going off about her relationship. All we wanted was to have a peaceful lunch and we got the total opposite.
My wife, daughter and I went here three nights ago. I'm really glad we didn't check Yelp beforehand, because our experience was outstanding. The food was outstanding; authentic Mexican. You can tell that the meat in the dishes is given a lot of attention. We got a couple standard chicken quesadillas and the beef burrito. The beef was more like steak, which was a nice surprise. Service was prompt and nice. The place was empty, but it was snowing, so that might explain that. Mexican beers were available and were ice cold and cost $3.75. Happy hour runs til 8pm M-F. We got two beers. Prices are very reasonable $8-10 for a normal entree like we got, although larger ones are available at about $14. Judging by other reviews, I can only assume that this place has gotten a new cook/manager/owner or something recently, since our trip was significantly better than what these other reviews show. We will be back, for sure. Eric
I'm being generous with my rating only b/c my husband's food was ok. But my first impression of this restaurant was not good. I went ahead of my husband who was at Lowe's and sat down. I had to get the waitress attention to tell her we would be 2 for lunch. She never returned to give me even a glass of water and when I called her over and said, can I at least have a glass of water while I wait, she snapped at me that I did not ask for one! Really! When my husband did arrive it was a long time between when we ordered until we got our food. My food was OK but not as fresh as I would have like for the Papua I was looking forward to. It's not a terrible place but I am not returning.
