We had no food here, just a wine tasting. (Didn 't have the choice to leave rating blank). Wines were fine from standard tasting, although we only considered buying one of them to compensate for the cost of tasting. The server wasn't very knowledgeable... or just couldn't articulate. It began to give us the wrong tasting sheet, then take it away, but not bring us the right one. She didn't talk much about the wine and didn't come back to our table unless we waved it. We asked ourselves about the difference between the vintages of one of the red wines (because the one we drink was different than that on the tasting sheet), and she said they taste the same. We asked questions about wines not thinking about tasting that we like something else a little better (to buy). An example Q
We were very disappointed at our experience with Brian Carter. It was our first visit there and we were very excited about it. We have visited many wineries in Woodinville, Walla Walla, many regions of CA and Italy. We are members of 5 wine clubs, 2 in CA and 3 in WA. My husband and I both agreed that this was one of our most disappointing experiences in wine tasting. We arrived at Brian Carter on a rainy afternoon at about 4:05 (4:00 reservations and were asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside. We decided outside because nobody was inside. The table was okay. Our first server gave us the QR code sheets and said to check the different tasting options (she said you were a variety and you were all red. That was the only description. She came back and asked what we had chosen. We chose the basic $20 wine tasting with a white, a rose and 3 reds. At first we were surprised that there was no welcome taste before sampling. Every winery we visited last year (about 24 wineries have given us a sample of something (parking, rose or something seasonal as soon as we sit down. Not here. After the order, she returned about 5 minutes later with the sample carrier. We tasted all the wines and the 5 samples, there were only three we liked. My husband did not like any of the wines he tasted (which is very rare for him), but thought the rose was the best of the heap. As we buy ALWAYS something we bought a rose and a Le Coursier. Halfway through our tasting at 3:45, another employee came out and said we had 15 minutes to finish our tasting because we had to go at 5:00. We had NIE in the winery. She then returned with our bill and the purchase of wine and said that she was sorry to ask us to go (there were 2 other tables occupied and they were also told to drink, but she hoped we would come back. We just smiled and said, a cherished thank you and went. We will not return.
The nicest thing was their flexibility to let us bring our dog for an outdoor tasting. But they were also gracious about the rest of our party arriving late, and not rushing us through our tasting a beautiful job hosting us! And the wine blends were amazing both whites and reds are creatively blended and were very tasty. And we could see Mt Rainier!
We loved our time at Brian Cellars! The service was amazing and the wine, even better.
