I can't believe how much this restaurant has declined. I used to love this place, but was really disappointed to see how empty it was. I had the brie and bacon burger, and I have to agree with another reviewer - it tasted like something you'd get from a food truck, but at a much higher cost. I will say that the staff were friendly, but I really hope they can turn things around.
Such an honour to write a review of our experience at stonegate yard and brasserie. Where to begin, the food on offer is the absolute best in the city, where the menu on offer is vast and caters to everyone’s tastes. From light snacks to main meals, from burgers to pasta, to chicken to salads you will find many options to choose from. The surroundings and restaurant itself is cosy and hosts a very family oriented feel the moment you walk in. The staff are welcoming, accommodating and above all else attentive throughout your visit. Kerry and Kim really are a credit to the business, you see from previous visits how hardworking and dedicated they both are to providing the best experience on your visit and making sure you leave happy by your dining choice. All the staff work tirelessly to serving customers and really are a dedicated team who go above beyond. The food truly is the best in the city and we can’t rate the restaurant enough to visit, we wouldn’t go anywhere else.
I went to this restaurant for a work Christmas dinner. The starters were delicious, but we had to wait 45 minutes for our main courses to arrive. The lasagna was terrible, the worst I have ever seen. My colleague couldn't eat it as it looked like a big mess of tomato sauce. The three of us at our table ordered rolled turkey breast wrapped in bacon, but it was missing the turkey. After I complained, I did receive a refund for the main courses and the staff offered us something else, but we had to catch our buses.
This was an organised work trip to see the xmas markets. So, 6 weeks prior to arriving i booked a table here knowing it was going to be busy as there were 5 of us. We arrived 10 mins before our time. Sat down ordered drinks and our food, 10 mins later they informed us one of the items was not available, so we ordered an alternative. 20 mins later starters arrived, in the meantime we had ordered another round of drinks. After the plates were cleared and waiting for the drinks we were told our mains would be another 45 mins!!! We explained that this was not acceptable as we were on a time limit and had to get back for our coach pickup. They did apologise, but why were we not informed of this when we ordered the starters as we would not have ordered mains and moved onto somewhere else. They then informed us we had to pay for the drinks we had ordered, even though we were leaving and didnt have time to drink them!!! After some negotiating we paid for the starters and the previous drinks and left. We were very dissapointed, i appreciate its a busy time of year, but the fact we booked well in advance management should be prepared and staff advised to let customers know before hand if there is going to be a wait.
