Although I agree with some reviews about the service being lacking (which is why I did not give a perfect score), they do have buzzers on the table to remind them to check on you. The prices are also higher compared to other Japanese restaurants, but considering the quality, I believe it's worth it.
I hadn't intended to go out for lunch on Friday, but when my management meeting was cancelled around that time, I seized the opportunity to dine out. I gathered my coworkers and we settled on trying out MI-NE Sushi on Woodbine (north of Hwy 7). Although we had been to this plaza before, it had been years since our last visit.
Upon first glance, I found that the prices on the menu were higher than I would prefer. However, after trying the food, I believe that the quality justifies the cost, especially given its location in the suburbs of Markham. I was particularly impressed by the presentation of their maki rolls. Each roll was meticulously crafted, showcasing the individual ingredients that come together to create each delicious piece of sushi. The decor and staff uniforms added to the Japanese ambiance of the restaurant, with Japanese paper accents that I particularly enjoyed. The servers were polite and welcoming, creating a pleasant dining experience. Many customers in the restaurant were ordering sushi boats, beautifully presented dishes that I am eager to try on my next visit.
I usually get take out but we decided to sit in today for lunch. The sushi is excellent. A little more pricy than the other places in Markham but the staff is not very friendly... The one in Richmond Hill feels more authentic but it's tiny. I'll stick with my take out next time
We were so amazed at how pretty it looked that we took pictures immediately. Hers was gigantic and covered the entire half of the table. I liked the colour scheme and the different levels that the handroll stand, tempura bowl, and sushi stand offered (nerdy food insights, I know).
