We were very disappointed in this restaurant. This was our first time dining here and it will be our last. There is a valet and two servers per table. The service is unbearably slow. If you decide to dine here, plan for a minimum of three hours. We were allotted one dinner roll per person, which if you are going to make someone wait a very long time for food, it would help offset the wait. Our waitress did eventually come back and we were able to get an additional roll each. The drinks were the highlight for me. I had the blackberry margarita and it was delicious. The entrees were not, with the exception of the prime rib which is not always available. We dine out frequently and I have never left a restaurant feeling as if I wanted to request a refund. I would have happily paid for the drinks, two apps and the prime rib. The rest of the entrees should have been sent back to the kitchen but due to time constraints, we decided to pay the bill and leave. In a town that has plenty of wonderful dining experiences, they really need to work on their service. In summary, skip the dining experience and have a few delicious cocktails at the bar.
Clay Hill Farm is the restaurant we chose to celebrate special occasions. This time it was our 58th wedding anniversary. Everything was perfect. My husband has a hearing issue so we found it difficult to chat when the guitar player was performing. We prefer the soft piano music. This is just about us and our situation as the performer received lots of applause during the evening.
We made a reservation last minute and Clay Hill Farm did not disappoint. We enjoyed leisurely drinks to start and didn't feel rushed. All of the courses were flavorful and fresh and the service was fantastic. Try the lobster, you won't have to fight with it. I highly recommend driving up the street (it's only a few miles) to this special gem.
This was our first visit to the restaurant. I had a Grouper special and my boyfriend had the steak with French fries. Both dishes came with green beans. We thought the food was top notch as well as the atmosphere. Where had a table by the window and were entertained by all the beautiful birds, squirrels and chipmunks that were right outside the window. We shared the hot fudge sundae for dessert. We are looking forward to returning to Clay Hill Farm.
