One of our standards in Yverdon. We eat there quite often, the restaurant is opened 7/7 up to 22:30 and they are really accomodating. We actually discovered this place when all the other restaurants were closed or full. And it was quite a nice surprise !They have a small room at floor level with a few tables outside in season. This is fine if you want ot be outside, if the main room upstairs is full or if you order a take away. But if you want a cosier place, go upstairs, the room is nice and the atmosphere is relaxing. The owner is such a nice lady ! you will enjoy a quality of service that has become quite unusual these days. Do take the time for a smile and a chat with her, you will be delighted. The food is very good. The offer is quite standard for this type of restaurant in this part of Switzerland, but the tastes are fine and everything is well executed. You can have the whole menu as take away which is quite convenient as well. The prices are very fair, especially if you remember that asian food is usually expensive in Switzerland. My favorites are the (not very original I know...) peking duck which is well executed, try also the basil chicken which is more of a thai standard, but also very nice. You can try anything anyway, you won't be dissapointed. So, there are so many pros and so little cons that there really is no serious reason for you not to try this nice place. Why are you still reading ? go now !
We happened on Huang He while trying to find a restaurant that TA apparently mislocated. Although it took a few moments to figure out, once we passed through the empty room on the street floor and ascended the stairs to the first floor, the fragrance of authentic Chinese cooking was apparent. We ordered our usual West Coast favorites and found them to be on par with Portland and San Francisco. The siu mai were excellent and the Singapore noodles just right. The server was attentive, the food came in good time, and the proprietress was friendly. We will return here when next in Yverdon.
