There are several young boys standing around doing nothing while people are waiting for service The highlight of the place is the wonderful music from Juanito and his group (love the drummer), but even that has changed from Mexican music to loud rock and roll Will be looking for another more traditional pozole restaurant 2/17/23 3* La Casa Que Canta restaurant Since Covid, the place has lost part of its charm While there is a token Mexican presence, the restaurant caters to tourists The table side demonstration of homemade chile may be a novelty to foreigners, but not to natives and certainly not as good Overall, the food was bland. The tuna was really not fit to eat The service was okay, but the waiter was pushy in trying to get us to order Nice wines by the glass Tasty desserts. Probably will not come back
This Restaurant works only on Thursdays. In Guerrero State is a local tradition to have late lunch in a pozoleria , typically they serve green pozole corn and pork soup) with sides of fried tacos, chiles fried and filled with meat. To drink normally serve mezcal and beer. What called my attention on this pozoleria is at 2:30 pm it was already full with waiting line. Customer were mainly international visitors from Canada and USA enjoying live music and the experience
Everyone should go here at least once to experience Thursday Pozole at Santa Prisca. It is more than food it's a lively and fun experience with great music and excellent food. We had no idea what to expect, and we're so glad we went!
Took a taxi from our hotel to the restaurant which I’m glad we did. The restaurant is nicely marked if you look online first at google maps. We started off with an appetizer plate which is Chile rellenos, taquitos, a pig foot, and a tostada. We ordered medium and small bowls pazole red, green, and white all were great. My favorite is the red which I added jalapeño, onion, radish, cilantro, avocado, and red Chile flakes. It was awesome. I started with a shot of mezcal and ended with a shot of mezcal. We had an awesome you tour guide (Franco-Frank) that said how to eat pazole with mezcal it helps with digestion I followed his words to a “T”. There was live music and everyone was singing and laughing while enjoying there meal. What a fantastic place if you come to Zihuatanejo this is a must try…we are not super adventurous but we had a great time thank you to everyone that helps keep this place going.
Great Pozole (red or green and in 3 sizes. The carnitas are fantastic. The service is great but you may have to wait (5 minutes for us). A definite redo
