Large small stand in front of an equally delicious vegan restaurant. I recommend this for Dessert. We arrived at 18:50 and were still open (on Monday evening). Buy 4 and we got one free as they were just nearby! So friendly and the desserts were so delicious, had the strawberry Custard and the chocolate lava (2 of each). Must eat when in Kaoshiung.
I first met at the Hsinchu No Meat Market Wheels of Fortune in December 2019. There were a long number of people Queuing for the seasonal strawberry raid cake (NT$60) with an option to add Tapioca beads for NT$5 more. It was reputable that I would go there, just a week before a trip to Kaohsiung where they are based. I immediately planned to visit her stand on her pet. They even gave NT$5 discount vouchers per ordered wheel cake to go as an additional incentive! When I arrived, I was sad to discover that they charge NT$10 more for their strawberry raid in Hsinchu than in Kaohsiung. It seemed dishonest, especially as other providers did not. When I saw this questionable price practice aside, I enjoy all four flavors I tried (all, but the brown sugar mochi). My favorite taste taste was three cup of chicken, and my favorite sweet taste was Custard Tapioca. The only drawback was that I wished the wheel cakes were warmer. Again they ordered NT$5 discount vouchers for each wheel cake that you can use on your next visit. Remember to do this! BYO container is extra environmentally friendly.
Before the same shop as the Burger connection. Nice dessert after a meal.
Read more in this vegan Kaohsiung guide: [hidden link] If you are in Kaohsiung, you need to try this one-of-a-kind shop. It has veganized a Japanese street dessert, known as imagawayaki or obanyaki, which is a circular shaped grilled pancake with red bean or custard inside. Wheels of Fortune cakes make 5 flavors (plus seasonal offerings): Lava chocolate cookie, custard with tapioca pearls, brown sugar mochi, and two savory flavors: bacon potato and three cup chicken. They are only TW$25-30 each, which is not even US$1. I especially love their sweet flavors. The lava chocolate cookie has chocolate sauce gushing out once you’ve taken the first bite. It is going to be messy, but it is worth it as it tastes amazing. And the custard in the other flavor tastes like the dairy custard. One of the best desserts you can get. The food cart is located outside another vegan place called Ye Shu Shu [censored] which will be introduced later in this guide.
