The background jazz music and the view of the Yoshino River rafting from the window made the dining experience enjoyable. It was a great way to relax and unwind after a long drive. The windmill and Aomomiji on the premises are perfect spots for photography. Of course, the food was also satisfying. The Soba noodles from the Iya Valley and the tempura made from local vegetables were crispy and delicious. The on-site store offered local products for purchase and even had a convenience store, making it a highly recommended location.
Zuya Soba Momijitei is a soba restaurant located near Oboke in Japan. On our way back from Kazura Bridge, we wanted to try Zuya Soba and decided to visit this restaurant. It was my first time eating Zuya Soba and it was so tender that I could cut it with chopsticks. The set meal with onigiri and konnyaku was delicious. They had local seasonings which added an interesting touch to the meal. The staff was very friendly and provided excellent service. They recommended a seat by the window overlooking a beautiful river, which made us very happy. The exterior and interior of the restaurant had a great atmosphere. The food was delicious, thank you for the meal. I would love to try a different menu next time. If I am ever in the area again, I will definitely stop by. There is a parking lot available as the facility also includes a Lawson, mont-bell, and a Tokushima ramen shop. Inside the parking lot, there is a specific area reserved for Momijitei with wheel stoppers and a sign.
Zuya soba is originally a rustic, thick soba that is not meant to be enjoyed for its smooth texture like modern soba. With its rustic hand-cut noodles, about 30% of the noodles become sobakiri-like in the mouth, setting it apart from contemporary soba. They also serve regular soba here, so comparing the two would make for a memorable experience. They offer sets with grilled ayu or trout and tempura of mountain vegetables, all of which are delicious. This newly opened restaurant in the Oboke and Koboke area has excellent customer service and shows promise for the future.
