Liǔ Wū Běn Pù - 水俣市

Hidden in the backstreets of the town, this traditional establishment of yokan and monaka is like a hidden gem! Known to those in the know, it is a popular spot with long lines. The prices are on the higher side, but the taste and sweetness are elegant and unique, something that can only be experienced at this particular restaurant! This time, I purchased monaka as a souvenir.

The red bean paste in the zunda is packed with deliciousness. The box also has a luxurious feel, ensuring that the recipient will be delighted. It's a great relief that they open early in the morning. In addition, the restroom is also fully equipped.

The outside is crispy and the inside is filled with red bean paste! Did they raise the price by 10 yen? It is now 200 yen for one.

水俣川沿いの旧道から細い路地に入ったところにある和菓子店。美貴もなかが有名。 初代が羊羹販売をスタートさせ、二代目が最中の販売も始めたという。現在は三代目。金髪の陽気な社長が切り盛りしている。 美貴もなかの「美貴」は初代の奥様の名前だという。薄くてパリパリした香ばしい皮がボリューム満点の餡子を挟んでいる。味は絶品。 水俣のお土産に購入すると良い。

水俣市にある「美貴もなか」は水俣の名菓です。忘れられない味なので思い出した時に買ってしまいます。 甘すぎず、あんこがたっぷり入ったモナカは水俣市民のみならず県内、県外のファンも多くお土産として買っていかれる方が多いです。お茶やコーヒーにとても合うので、持っていくと喜ばれる一品です。 お店構えや雰囲気がとても良いので足を運ばれる方も多いお店です。
